DAY 1: RONGAI GATE – SIMBA CAMP (2,600m)

After breakfast at your hotel in Moshi, you drive to the Rongai Gate, located on the northern side of Mount Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border.
After registration and briefing, the trek begins through farmland and pine forest, offering a peaceful and gradual start.

The trail is gentle, allowing your body to begin adjusting to altitude.
You arrive at Simba Camp, with views of the Kenyan plains and surrounding wilderness.

Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Overnight: Simba Camp

DAY 2: SIMBA CAMP – SECOND CAVE CAMP (3,450m)

After breakfast, the trail ascends steadily as forest vegetation gives way to open moorland.
You enjoy wide views of the mountain and the surrounding valleys.

This is a moderate hiking day focused on gradual altitude gain and acclimatization.
Arrival at Second Cave Camp in the afternoon, where you rest and enjoy the quiet environment.

DAY 3: SECOND CAVE CAMP – THIRD CAVE CAMP (3,870m)

The landscape becomes more alpine and rocky as you continue ascending.
The air is thinner, and the pace remains slow and steady.

From the trail, you get excellent views of Kibo Peak and the dramatic slopes of Mawenzi.
You arrive at Third Cave Camp, a remote and peaceful camp ideal for further acclimatization.

DAY 4: THIRD CAVE CAMP – SCHOOL HUT (4,800m)

Today you climb across the Saddle, the wide alpine desert between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
The environment is barren and dramatic, with vast open landscapes.

You arrive at School Hut early in the afternoon, rest, hydrate, and receive a summit briefing from your guide.
Early dinner and sleep prepare you for the midnight summit attempt.

Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Vegetation Zone: Alpine Desert
Overnight: School Hut

DAY 5: SUMMIT DAY – SCHOOL HUT → UHURU PEAK (5,895m) → MWEKA CAMP (3,100m)

You wake around midnight and begin the summit ascent toward Gilman’s Point, then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.

After photos and celebration at the summit, you descend back past School Hut and continue down to Mweka Camp, entering the forest zone for overnight rest.

Hiking Time: 12–15 hours
Vegetation Zone: Arctic → Rainforest
Overnight: Mweka Camp

DAY 6: MWEKA CAMP – MWEKA GATE (EXIT)

A gentle descent through lush rainforest leads to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificates.
Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi for rest and celebration.
